This is a very fine american early 19th Century Boston, Massachusetts federal four drawer mahogany chest with flame crotched mahogany drawer fronts, beaded drawer edges, stopped fluted reeded corner columns, and turned spiral legs with six notched spandials at the base of the chest. The overall design, presentation, and construction are of the regional characteristics attributing this chest to the Boston, Massachusetts School of Cabinetmakers. Circa: 1800-1820. The current hardware is contemporary. Warm mellow flame nut brown patina. Excellent condition. Height: 40''
