This is a lovely early 19th century Mid-Atlantic states Federal American reverse serpentine inlaid mahogany and mahogany veneer swell front elegant formal chest with paneled sides, graceful scalloped delicately shaped front skirt all being supported on turned Sheraton legs with a superb large crotched mahogany and mahogany veneer oval inlaid central panel in the top drawer with three graduated smaller mahogany veneered drawers below. The oval Sheraton brass pulls and the brass casters are contemporary replacements. The chest is rather unusual in scale, form, proportion and has survived in a lovely state of preservation.
