Superb Rare 19th C English Regency Mahogany Davenport Circa: 1825. The sliding leather writing slope surmounted by a shaped wooden gallery and concealing a locking pen drawer with bone pull and ebonised compartments. The compartment to the far right contains a secret drawer. Having a plain frieze on all sides, leading to an unusual shaped front paneled section, decorated with four plain roundels, flanked by lion heads, above volutes with acanthus to fascias terminating in s-scrolls. A writing slide above four graduated drawers all with brass pulls to right hand side, and similar blind slide and drawers to the reverse, and panelled section to back. Leading to a moulded edge, the whole supported on lion feet to front and turned feet to back. Height: 35'', Width: 22'', Depth: 23''
