American Aesthetic Movement, Anglo-Japanese influenced ebonized cherry secretary. Extra nice example of the most stylish pieces of this Period. Unusual shape, featuring a double door bookcase topped by a spindle gallery over an elegantly gilt-incised cylinder desk with pull out writing surface and Birds' Eye maple interior. Two good size shelves, flank the cylinder, above a single drawer and double door cabinet all gilt incised in the same Japanesque Taste. All original hardware and finish, with gilt incising.
