Circa 1870. Solid rosewood folding games table. Rococo Revival, with elegant lines and lovely, high quality carvings, English in origin. This versatile table can be used for its original 19th century purpose, playing games or as additional seating for four when needed. When it is folded it also makes a good and decorative, pier or parlor table. The table top rotates on it's pedestal base giving access to a storage compartment and then unfolds to a slightly recessed playing surface, which at the moment is not covered. We can add felt or send it out to be covered in leather as the buyer chooses. We like to leave options open so that the next owner can choose color and material. This fine Victorian table is made of beautifully figured, solid rosewood throughout. The top is a double serpentine curve and the base is a tapered column with four flat sides and foliate carvings. The table retains it's original brass hinges. Very good original condition, with only a very slight warp to the top that does not affect looks or use. Lightly re-polished. 36" wide x 29 1/2" high x 18" deep.
