Vintage Nathan Margolis furniture solid mahogany dish top snakefoot candlestand c1938.This table is an exact vintage copy of a period American 18th century candlestand. The entire top is one piece unlike less expensive pieces that were made with applied top molding. This table was made from perfectly matched mahogany. The base has what is called a snake foot design. Each leg is hand dovetailed into the center turning. Measures 26 inches high, 20 inches across its top.The Margolis burn with border brand with border marking was used from about 1937 until 1941. The Margolis furniture store was in Hartford CT and was in operation during the early 20th century. They reproduced the finest examples of period 18th and early 19thc American furniture designs for their wealthy clients.
