A Warren Platner (1919) high-back lounge chair structured with steel wire frames waisted to shape the base and a fiberglass shell, reupholstered in red wool cotton fabric. Manufactured by Knoll, 1966. This model is not edited anymore. Warren Platner (1919-) graduated from the Cornell University School of Architecture in 1941. Following his work with legendary designers Raymond Loewy, Eero Saarinen and I. M. Pei, he immersed himself in the creation of steel wire furniture. Notable among his residential and commercial projects are the Georg Jensen Design Centre and the Windows on the World restaurant in the World Trade Centre, both in New York City. Very good condition.
