circa: 1890 width: 24 height: 42 length: 22 This regal antique carved oak armchair was crafted in England around 1890. The oak has developed a deep patina. Midnight blue upholstery adorned with a golden unicorn add to its whimsy and charm. Carved skirting surrounds the seating. The arched back and down-turned scroll arms sit atop cabriole legs. The arched back is crowned with scroll patterns and a crown serves as its centerpiece. The solid-brass feet have a roller-ball design. The velvet is supple and luxurious with only a minor imperfection or two. The legs have been repaired several times due to woodworm damage (see pictures); therefore it no longer serves a functional purpose and is now purely decorative. Serves as an interesting part of a display or to complete the decor in a room.
