One piece cupboard with top having canted section which goes from 9-1/2†deep to 12-1/2†on the bottom.
This rare step-back primitive pine cupboard has a lovely, weathered honey brown patina. There are remnants of an old blue-green wash in some surface pits.
Three graduated shelves in the open, white-washed top area are grooved for displaying plates.
The bottom has a central door with one shelf behind. Door is held shut with a wooden turn-screw. The door has a raised and chamfered central panel. The interior of the door displays a worn, grain-painted surface.
The cupboard has boot-jack ends and an arched front apron.
The front surface displays a bead molding on the outer edge.
There are square nails used in its construction.
The rear of the cupboard is composed of 3 long boards. It appears that there have been some replacement board feet inserted into the bottom few feet of the left two boards. There is a diagonal crack apparent in the top of the central rear board.

• Base is 16 ½†deep.
• Upper section is 9 ½†deep at the top, tapering to 12½†deep at the base of the upper section.
• Door measurements are 28†high x 20 ½†wide.
This cupboard is solid and sturdy. The old stained surface is worn, pitted and cracked in places. There are nicks and scratches expected in a piece approaching 200 years of age.
