circa: 1960 width: 35.5 height: 78 length: 16 This beautiful yew wood bookcase was made in England around 1960 and recently imported to our store in Atlanta, GA. The yew used on this bookcase is unusually peppered with bird''s eyes, swirls and knots, making this a very unique piece. The top cabinet has 2 adjustable shelves and 2 astragal glazed glass doors. There are 2 dovetailed drawers with swan neck pulls and a cabinet on the bottom. The cabinet has one adjustable or removable shelf. Both upper and lower cabinets lock with included key. The top is decorated with a dental molded cornice which sets off the top nicely. For added look and stability, this bookcase sits on bracket feet. Condition of this piece is good, having only minor wear marks consistent with age. One of the brass pulls has a split in it. The drawers work easily and the piece is very sturdy. Overall this yew wood bookcase would make a wonderful addition to any distinguished home or office.
