This is a splendid, large antique carved mahogany wardrobe front, circa 1880, from the Aesthetic Movement. It begins with a scalloped top edge, crowned in the center with a beveled and carved piece featuring a roundel pattern followed by a stylized foliate design. Below, the center of the piece features a pair of three-dimensional flowers, one on either side, underlined across by a pattern of roundels. The center opening, which originally held a mirror, is framed by two beautifully carved brackets, reminiscent of wings, featuring a spiral design followed by a wing-like shape. The wardrobe doors on both sides of the mirror opening are ornamented with gorgeous, carved floral designs, and are each flanked by beautifully carved brackets, which repeat the three-dimensional flower motif from the mirror area; below each bracket is a fluted panel. This wardrobe façade is in very good antique condition, with some minor chips that do not detract from the beauty of the piece. This would be fabulous as a built-in closet front or as the front of an entertainment center. It can be disassembled easily for shipping. The wardrobe front measures 98 ½†wide and 94 ¼†tall overall; the space for the mirror is 25 ½†wide and 78†tall; the doors are 25 ¼†wide and 69 ½†tall.
