Historical Context: This coin was minted in ISTROS: was located in Thrace (Northern Greece) on the coastline of the Black Sea. There was a large amount of silver coinage issued in the frist half of the 4th Century BC suggesting it was a place of commercial importance. The Twin Inverted Faces is one of the most collectable of ancient coins. The inverted faces has been interpreted to represent the Dioskouri, the rising and setting sun.

Diameter: 17- 18 mm across (about the diameter of a US Dime but twice as thick)
Condition: about Very Fine, retoned and waxed for preservation
