Historical Context: This coin was minted by the ROMAN EMPIRE during the reign of VICTORINUS 265 – 270 AD. M. Piorvonius Victorinus. Was a general and administrator serving as Consul under Postumus. Following the death of Postumus, Victorinus was hailed emperor. Hois forces moved against Marius resulting in the capture of Cologne and eventually the remainder of the Gallic Empire. He was murdered by an official whose wife he had seduced.
