Antique hanging clock. Clock is Swiss set in silver with guilloche enamel and marcasites, probably French and dating to the late 19th / early 20th century. Measurements: diameter of clock alone is 1 7/8 inches. The mount is 4 inches long, excluding ribbon and bar with loop. Total length is approx 7 1/4 inches. Exquisitely made and finest, finest workmanship all round. Mount is silver with engine turned, pink guilloche enamel in patterns that seem to hover and dance as the light catches the surface. The bar that suspends the ribbon and rest of the piece is in matching silver and enamel. Both pieces are hallmarked on the back with 935 - above sterling standard of silver. The clock has a border in blue guilloche enamel, also engine turned, with a very fine pattern. It is set with applied numerals, all done in silver and marcasites. The hands of the clock are similarly set. The silver border of the clock has a tiny engraved SWISS. The parts of the clock are connected by a very pretty blue ribbon that might be a replacement of the original. Condition: very good. No damage of any sort found. The clocks works and keeps time.
