DESCRIPTION:
This is an exquisite mahogany long case clock, which is of super grand proportions. It has an eight-day movement on a broken arch painted face with rolling moon. This truly is a majestic clock which has the most fantastic mahogany case and is incredibly detailed.
If we start with the hood, this has swan necks with arched moulded cornice and is finished which lovely carved pateras to the centre of the swan necks is a wonderful pediment. The hood door is beautifully inlaid with chequer board stringing and is flanked by superb cluster columns. Above the hood door is also inlaid and there are three superb oval panels of inlay. The centre panel contains an urn with a flower and the two outer panels contain flowers.
Moving down to the trunk, the lovely shaped triple peak full length door is flanked by cluster columns and there is a lovely half carved applied acorn to the centre peak. The door contains the most wonderful flame of mahogany. Above the door are three lovely oval of inlay containing an acorn and acorn leaves and below each of the cluster columns there is an oval panel of inlay.
The base is is again beautifully inlaid with stringing with the centre panel having a wonderful flame of mahogany, the front corners are canted and again have been beautifully inlaid with chequer board stringing. The base is then raised on lovely ogee bracket feet.
The eight-day movement has a broken arch painted face with rolling moon and subsidiary second dial and date dial. The four corners are beautifully adorned with beautiful delicately painted flowers and strawberries. The clock has the most very pretty fingers. The dial bears the makers name 'JONES, STOCKPORT'.

CONDITION:
The clock is in wonderful condition. The movement is lovely and clean and in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced.
