Set of 12 Orange Fitzhugh plates. 10" in Diameter. Circa 1976. These plates are a fine Reproduction set of the well known chinese export porcelain pattern of the 18th. Century. The pattern contains the American Eagle and Shield emblem. "E PLURIBUS UNUM". Green underglaze backstamp "Mottahedeh Vista Alegre Portugal 1776-1976". Mildred Mottahedeh and her husband Raffie were collectors of 18th and 19th century chinese export porcelain and traveled the world in their quest of important pieces. They opened a factory in Portugal and reproduced many important pieces that were sold in museums around the world. Their are a few flea nicks on the rim of a couple of the plates but it is hardly noticeable. Be scanning your finger on the edge of the plates is the only way you would know from viewing them. We have in our inventory, 10--19TH Century Chinese Export Blue Canton Dinner Plates measuring 9 3/4"-10" in diameter. They all have chips, nicks, and one had been broken and repaired by old stapling method. All these plates are 19th century. NO NEW CANTON. This will be sold as one lot--$500.00 Plus Shipping. FINAL PRICE!!! We are showing each dinner plate on our web site. #1-#10!! #10 is the plate that has been stapled. #'s 6 thru 9 are all about the same coloring and on a average each have 2-3 chips. #'s 3,4, and 5 are darker and are a deeper plate, almost like a shallow soup plate and each of these have 1 or 2 chips. #'s 1 and 2 are a lighter blue and more crudely made and have no visable chips--maybe just a tiny rough edge. All of these plates are definetely from the 1800's and are not the modern day reproductions that are flooding the market made in china. EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE DIFFERENT COLORING IN BLUE AND CHIPS, ETC. THEY WOULD REALLY SHOW OFF A CORNER CUPBOARD or other ways of decorating in the home.   « Less

Chinese export porcelain plates decorated for the English market. Qianlong period. 18th century. The wavy edged rim is bordered with garlands of summer flowers, surrounding a central reserve with a hand-painted floral bouquet, all trimmed with fine bands of gilding. The body of the porcelain is thinly potted and the white glaze ground is distinctly tinged with blue, with an unglazed foot ring. Condition is very good, with some minor glaze fritting and roughness to the rims, but with little wear to the painted floral decoration and gilding. Size: 9.25" diameter.   « Less
