Extremely fine authentic ancient Egyptian late period, 26th-30th Dynasty circa 664-332 B.C. turquoise glazed faience composition amulet, depicting the goddess Taweret with the loop at the back for suspension. The Hippo headed goddess Taweret was the ancient Egyptian goddess of childbirth and fertility. MEASUREMENTS: Height 3.4 cm (1 3/8 in). CONDITION: in original condition showing its age. Authentic, Ancient Egyptian blue faience Amulet depicting the Jackal headed God Anubis. Late Period 26th-30th Dynasty, ca. 664-332 B.C. He had two major roles in ancient Egyptian religion. The most important of his roles was to monitor the Scales of Truth to protect the dead from deception and eternal death. The second was to protect the deceased from jackals and decay through mummification and embalming. Amulets like the one offered here were worn by the relatives of the deceased to protect their departed. MEASUREMENTS: Approximate length: 2.2 cm (0.866142). Seller assumes all responsibility for this listing. From Egypt's 13th dynasty (1785-1650 BC), granite head with smooth facial features, a vigilant gaze, large ears. He is wearing a short ceremonial beard and a shoulder-length wig or striped headdress. This piece is the face is naturalistic in the great tradition from the end of the 12th dynasty. The small eyes, the piercing gaze and the slightly pursed mouth support a 13th dynasty dating. 3-1/8"W (8cm). Hard stone sculpture is very rare from the Middle Kingdom, and is highly sought out by collectors and museums alike.   « Less

Measurements: 13.75 INCHES HIGH (35 CMS), 10.25 INCHES WIDE (26 CMS). Carved in sunk relief showing the cartouche of Ramses X, with partial relief of seated Osiris to the right, and an offering jug below to the left. His reign has been variously given as ranging from three to nine years. His tomb (KV 18), just beyond Seti I, has never been properly explored. Another known inscription from Aniba in Nubia has his cartouche. A very rare relief for one of the earlier kings. Measurements: 4.5 INCHES HIGH, (11.5 CMS). This lovely statue depicting the Egyptian dwarf god Bes. He was originally the protector of pharoahs, and he became very popular in every day egyptian life. He was the protector of women and children. He had no temples, and overtime he became the champion of everything good, and the enemy of everything evil. He was also the god of war, who protected the pharoah and the egyptians from evil spirits.He was also protecting women during childbirth: If a woman was expecting a difficult childbirth, a statue of bes, similar to this one, would be placed next to her, to invoke assistance on her behalf. Bes also remained next to a child after birth for protection and entertainment. It was often said that when a child smiles for no reason, it is beacuse of bes presence.
