This is a very fine example of an Iban ceremonial mask. The superbly rendered haunting face with somewhat enigmatic expression possessing a beautiful nose and delicately sculpted mouth. The stare is expressive and imposing and the dry adze marks give it an outstanding presence. It is carved from medium dense wood and has a subtle, smooth patina on the front and back.

The mask is 9.2 inches tall by 5.4 inches wide.
