Beautiful, rare colour - dark blue carved cinnabar lacquer box.The pattern is two birds in a profusion of blossom flowers. Sides have a Chinese geometric design. Interior is black lacquer, with lift-off lid. Box measures 5.5 cm high by 13 cm wide by 9.75 cm deep (2.1/8 inches by 5.1/8 inches by 3.7/8 inches). Externally very good condition - a few tiny marks. Inside there are some chips to the lacquer covering of the box stand-up lip.
