Superb ceramic folk art vase from Shigaraki, one Japan's foremost pottery centers. Dating from the Meiji Period, c.1890 this wood fired tsubo was produced in a climbing nobori gama kiln fired with wood for three days to achive these wonderful natural glazes. The clays have a choseki, long life stone, which when fired produces unreproducable glaze formations. Ask for shipping quote. Excellent Condition. (h:42cm; diam:34cm)
