SOLD Authentic, antique American Civil War Confederate infantry officer sword patterned after the U.S. model 1850 Foot Officer’s word  in the classic unmarked version does not have any maker’s markings, or inspector's stamps, which is typical for most of the confederate swords made by many small manufactures during the civil war.
All union swords are marked by US makers, or by European makers, which they exported to the Union.

DETAILS: Â The brass hilt has a double branch guard decorated with small raised designs in open floral pattern. Â A ribbed, wooden grip, covered in leather with remains of brass wire, surmounted by a brass pommel, engraved with leaves. A slightly curved, single edged, steel blade with flat back, cut with a full length shallow fuller.

CONDITION: Blade slightly pitted in some spots, rear quillon is cut down, and absence of the brass wire, leather bonding chipped.
