Victorian, circa 1860 Large Staffordshire titled figure of Louis Napoleon. Dressed in military uniform and modeled standing beside a gray stone pillar, holding his feathered hat in his right hand, and with his left hand resting on his hip. Sword at his side. Dull gilt base line, title and decoration. Vent hole to reverse. Similar piece illustrated figure 733, page 211, Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 1, by A.& N. Harding. Good. No restoration. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. Minor paint losses to eyes and sword cover. Some rubbing to gilt. Kiln effects: touch mark to reverse; stray blue glaze to base. 16.25ins high
