circa: 1900 width: 46 height: 49 length: 21 This beautiful antique mahogany dresser was hand-crafted from solid wood in Late Victorian England around 1900. Since then, the mahogany has acquired the loveliest of patinas, which enriches the naturally pleasant complexion and distinct grain. The shell-shaped knobs, which are a bit darker than the rest of the dresser, complement the wood very well, as does the grooved moulding at the top and base of the dresser. Each of the six drawers features brass escutcheons--unfortunately the dresser does not retain its key--front and rear hand-cut dovetailed joints, and offers generous storage space. The bottom drawer actually comprises part of the sturdy plinth base, which is a unique feature and allows the drawer to offer even more storage space than usual, while the mahogany dresser rests on removable casters for easy movement, although they have been worn to a point that they are not very mobile. There is some minor wear on this mahogany dresser, but overall cosmetic condition remains excellent, especially given the great age of this dresser. Meanwhile, structural integrity remains incomparably strong. This antique Victorian mahogany dresser will certainly continue to function beautifully for generations to come, so making it a part of your home would be a great investment!
