A skillfully hand carved antique cane with a horse's head for the handle grip and with an old man's face on the opposite side; the letters "KEPKVPA" are carved below the handle. Kepkvpa is the Greek Island known as Corfu which is the Italian corruption of the Byzantine Kovpcd. Corfu was under the rule of several different empires over it's long history. The Island, known for its great beauty is also known for its olive trees. This walking stick is made from an olive branch (a peace gesture) and shows a slight arc, late 19th or early 20th century, 35" long.
