Three piece antique Japanese early Meiji Period c.1885 bronze flower vase used for the tea ceremony and ikebana flower arrangements. The bottom stand is on three gourd legs with raised swirling waves. The body has raised geese flying amongst pines. Geese with pines connotates 'kanraigetsu' the eigth lunar month in the old calendar - the month of the geese's return. Folk beliefs associate geese with wedded bliss.
