Exceptional bronze craftsmanship from one of Japan's premier post war bronze masters, Sawada Seiko. Born in 1894, Sawada was awarded numerous Art prizes and was asked to judge most of the important, prestigeous art competitions. This fabulous bronze vase c. 1950 has wave diaper motif around the neck with swallows in raised relief. The handles are mythical buddhist elephants. Slight bronze discoloration from age.
