Borneoartifact item number: MC 0202 Old Batak BONE container. The body(real cow bone, hollow inside) were used for storing traditional medicines and sometimes jewelry. Batak text motifs ( I believe a form of calender) are carved on the bone piece. The stopper resembling a Batak man and animal figurine is carved from wood.Circa 1980.
