This item has been SOLD. This is the 1870 Pattern dress or walking out bayonet style sidearm worn by an artillery NCO. The hilt and leather scabbard fittings are of brass. The slightly curved blade has an artillery regiment title on one side and a scene of a casson pulled by horses on the opposing side, this is a very fine example. In very good, orignal condition, with untouched patina and a sound scabbard. The blade has some very slight abrassion with a few very small spots of rust. Blade 19.25" Brass hilt 4.5" 25.75" in scabbard.
