Circa 1990 20” wide by 24” high framed This is a lovely rendition of the dedication of the Statue of Liberty to President Grover Cleveland from the Government of France. The ceremony was actually held on October 28, 1886. This painting is rich in tiny details and very colorful with all of the red uniforms and small boats flying the flags of their countries. It was painted in the early 1990’s by artist Eugene Canchois. The painting is in very good condition and fully signed. I do not at this time have biographical information on the artist. This is an estate purchase and the seller though he was a French Canadian painter. Pictures
