Victorian, date ciper for 1879 Wedgwood Majolica Argenta passion flower plate. Decorated with passion flower leaves and buds, and a central passion flower on cream stipple ground. Branch molded rim. Cream reverse with impressed ''WEDGWOOD'' maker''s mark, ''J'', and three letter date cipher ''AIH'' for 1879 inside the foot. Also painted pattern number ''M2781 1/2.''. Generally good. No restoration. No cracks. Tight hairline to rim. No chips. No flakes. Slight wear to the front. 8.5ins diameter
