Victorian, circa 1870 George Jones Majolica teapot and cover, decorated with white blossom on cobalt ground. Crescent shaped body with an arched base. Handle in the form of a monkey. Spout in the form of a forked branch. Floral finial to the cover with steam hole inside the flower. Ochre border around the rim. Turquoise interior. Three stilt marks to underside along with raised pattern registration diamond and pattern number ''3464'' in reserve. Painted mark to cover flange. Similar teapot illustrated figure 96, page 59, Schiffer''s ''George Jones Ceramics 1861-1951'' by Robert Cluett. Good. No cracks. No hairlines. Tiny flake to cover rim. Slight abrasion to tips of petals on cover. Slightly stained crazing to the flowers. Repair to very end of spout. Restored chip and flake to cover. 6ins high, 9.5ins wide
