An attached typed letter, dated September 28, 1980, Lexington, Massachusetts, reads, "The accompanying art work is an original watercolor painted by Philip Brown Parsons and is one of a collection of studies he did of outdoors and sports scenes. Sincerely yours, Bernice Parsons (Mrs. Philip Brown Parsons). It is signed in ink, "Bernice P. Parsons."
