circa: 1890 width: 42 height: 43 length: 19 This beautiful antique mahogany chest of drawers was handmade in Victorian England around 1890. The flame mahogany has developed a deep, rich patina that complements the natural beauty of the wood, which is coated with a fine wax finish. The solid brass pulls contrast wonderfully with the mahogany, while the turned feet look great. Although this chest remains quite attractive, it has sustained significant superficial wear, including various scuffs and stains as well as damage to the veneers. Both sides have also developed small, cosmetic separations in the wood at the bottoms, and a few areas have been chipped, particularly on the skirt, but also on one of the top corners. Additionally, the drawers slide in and out with a little difficulty. This Victorian chest does, however, remain very sturdy, so overall condition is good.
